There is no escaping a yearly fish kill anymore. The severity of the kill is about all we have to discuss anymore. If you want to stop the fish kills, all you have to do is identify an endangered or threatened warm water aquatic species below the dam and bring it to the attention of an environmental group. The CORP would then be forced to mitigate the release of cold water downstream. That means they would have to raise their intake structures up the water column. This would protect the cold oxygenated water from being sucked through the turbines. The CORP will not do anything on their own. It will take legal action. I guarantee there is at least one endangered or threatened warm water turtle species living in the Savanna River. Any Lawyers out there that care about the striper fishery?
