Back in September,I ran into one of our ASC club members who had run into the GA DNR guys on Lightwood Log taking Temp/DO readings.

The DNR guy told him that there was NO O2 below 40 feet and the Water Temp above 40 feet was above the Striper tolerance level.

The same DNR guy has told us at club meetings that given a choice of O2 vs Temp, Stripers will seek comfortable temp over O2.

Look at our Club tourney results in Sept (9 teams, 4 fish, 19.5 total lbs), Oct (8 teams, 5 fish, 33.9 total lbs) and Nov (9 teams, 7 fish, 67.5 total lbs)

Based on all that, my estimation is that there must have been mortality in the deep end of Hartwell in September and as the DNR guy has told us at club meetings, the LARGER fish seem to take the brunt of bad water quality....
