The pictures shows plot of position accuracy using standard Lowrance GPS (non-WAAS) receiver (stationary) over an 8 hour period. The grid is in Meters and shows that the accuracy is well within 2 or 3 meters (6 to 10 feet) most of the time and only once in 8 hours was more than 10 meters off.
It is hard to tell exactly but it looks to me like the accuracy averages to be within about 3 meters (10 ft) most of the time. I would be interesting to see a similar plot for a WAAS receiver.
IMHO, since S/A (Selective Availability has been turned off, a standard 12 channel GPS will be more accurate than one will ever need -- much less then the length of your boat. If you are a Surveyor you will need the DOD Precision code which the military uses. Is WAAS really worth the extra antenna and cost to gain only 2 -3ft. more accuracy?
