GPS what do i want?

I'm thinking about getting a GPS. I have a Garmin 240, and for that reason think i want a Garmin GPS. I don't know much about them at all. For the most part Norman is the biggest lake i fish. and where I fish doesn't take much to find my spots. I would like to to be able to share GPS locations with other fishermen if that is possible, I'm under the impression that I can use a GPS for trolling speed. Is this so? I don't want to spend a bundle but I don't want to wish I would have got the other one, if you know what I mean, Thinking about a hand held so I could use it off the boat. Thanks for any ideas or thoughts
