I am planning on going fishing this weekend eaither late tonight or starting sat morning early. I have heard my father talk about russel having big trout and that there was the best trout fishing in ga before the dam was built. I saw some posts on this board about catching trout in the hartwell tailrace. Does anyone here know anything about it if they still stock them or if there is a good natural population in the lake. Also I know there are some stripers and hybards in the lake that were there when the dam was built I figure they will be trophy sized by now and in the tailrace if anywhere. I have been fishing clarks hill for the last 3 months since i gained respect for stripers but i still want a trophy sized trout. If anyone has had any experience with the hartwell tailrace or knows if there is any kind of chance at a good fish there please write me back. I dont want to waste a good weekend of fishing but it feels like big fish weather. Also has anyone had any luck fishing the bubble lines at shuck pin eddy?
