I fished saturday morning - beached the boat on the portman side of a little island just to the north of Andersonville. there were two other boats on the south side of the same island when we got there at 5:50 a.m. - we were casting about thirty feet out the back of the boat with regular old downrod setups and live herring from chris's place, we caught three stripers in the 5-8 lb range, and seven large mouth in the 4-6 lb range. Dad missed one striper that was tearing line off when he reared back and tried to set the hook. told him he did not need to do that with the circle hooks but go figure - dad listening to his son. there was plenty of fish rolling the surface between 6:30 to 7:30. good luck wish i could go this week.
