Thanks Mr. Price,
Lately I have been fishing in about 25 to 30 foot of water using blueback or jumbo shinners.
Fishing straight down just below the bait fish and putting some rods a few feet from the bottom.
I have a pontoon setup just for fishing. I have tried using a generator. Its a coleman 1650. Its a little loud and everyone says it probably spooks the fish. I also have one of the 12volt green lights like you mentioned. I like it and it seems to really draw the baitfish only problem is I never get any bites. I usually fish with a 1 ounce or 1.5 ounce sinker fished above a 12 to 24 inch leader w\ a silver hook. Also I use a good barrel swivel in between my leader and sinker. Is the generator a problem or does it really matter? I have lights --2 250 watt work lights that shine straight down under the boat. Ive tried this way many times with no luck. Maybe Im just fishing the wrong area or spots. I hear alot of fish are being taken on hartwell around T-1 off the points. We camped last weekend on Andersonville Island and I fished, No luck on the stripes. But I ran slap out of shinners on the cats. I can catch them fine(on the bottom), but I really want to catch some stripes. I like the meat and the big fight.
Fished Santee for years and caught some really big cats there and on hartwell too, But I love night fishing and want to catch some big stripes.
Hit me back to see what you think.
