We just glued a piece of PVC into the elbow, then heated it and mashed it closed to form a slit. It increases velocity of the aerated water swirling around the tank. Here's the whole thing. a) use a threaded nipple (nylon or PVC) through the wall of the tank.b) On each side of the tank wall use a nut to hold this in place.c) On the bait side thread on an elbow with a glue fitting on the other end. d)Then put in the squashed piece of pipe. e)Turn the elbow to direct flow around the tank.f) on the other end of the nipple thread on a hose barb.g) Fit hose from pump outlet to venturi h) then from venturi to hose barb.i) Clamp all joints except pump (for quick change in case of pump failure). Is this what you want? I use an 800 GPH pump in a 40 gal tank. Found out one thing very important. Make sure you have the right polarity on the pump. It will pump with the polarity reversed, but only about 50% or less capacity.
