Jason,we just let our tanks drain out in the floor (no carpet), if you want to you can pump it out with an extra piece of hose (just pull off the hose at the pump and add a long enough hose to pump over the side of your boat), or dip it out with a bucket. You can use 1" or 2" thick polyfil sheets ( availible at Wal Mart). To clean the filter material just spray the sheet clean with freshwater and let it air dry.We have some that is over 6 months old, we just keep reusing them. There is some very good tanks on the market today as opposed to several years ago when we only had a couple of choices. Any of these tanks will work. I just know from personal experience that Creek Bank Bait Tanks have a few more features that work better for us. We are able to keep more bait, in better condition, longer, with less headaches. Please go to our website www.creekboats.com and click on the tanks and it will tank you to them. If you have any more questions please call or email.
