You said shad, not blueback herring. Do you mean threadfin or gizzard shad? How many and how long do they stay alive now? How often to you change part of the water.
Also, what kind of bait tank and no. of gallons and is it spray or air infusion?
Just looking for somthing that might be causing the problem.
