I would use about 1.5 cups of non-iodized salt (NaCL - Sodium Chloriede). A lot of people use Ice Cream salt which works but I bought a 50lb bag of cattle feed grade salt at the local Feed and Seed store and that is the best price per pound I've found. I don't remember exactly what I paid but I think it was around $7.00.

DO NO use salt that contains Iodine or Epsom Salt
