If you pay attention and don't get crazy adding too many baits in the bait tank, there are no problems. Shad are easily all day and all night. But, there is no mistaking it, when you add 1 or 2 extra shad over the limit, everything gets sick and dies. How many times have we seen this happen. A general rule is 25 baits for 25 - 30 gallons of bait tank water.

The question is: How do you know when you reach the limit of your bait tank system? It's real easy to tell when you exceed the limits of your bait system... the death and dieing are obvious.

The key point here is to only take what your bait system will support irregardless of how many baits you would like to bring with you or think you need.

Merry Christmas Duck, stay warm.
