I'm no expert on this but I think the ideal temperature for stripers is 56 deg. F. Proper water temperature, oxygen content and forage are the main things stripers need. Depth definitely effects these. In the hot summer months here on Lake Hartwell, almost all of the stripers are below 50 ft. trying to stay cool. If oxygen or food is not available in the cool deep water they sometimes venture into the warmer water and get heat stressed. I have seen several large stripes float to the top in the summertime. I caught a 28 lb. striper by hand several years ago when the temperature had been over 100 deg. for several days.
