James, I have never gone out on a trip with Keith, but when I haven't fished West Point for a couple of weeks or so, I give Keith a ring and he puts me more less in the living room of fish. Yes, he is a very good guide. You could be right about West Point not being deep enough. Right around the dam it gets as deep as 80 feet or so at full pool. And other areas of the lake I would say it averages 40, maybe 45 foot deep. I don't know what the average dept should be for stripes but I think probably a third of the lake is 25 foot or less, more than likely the lake doesn't have enough deep water. And there is definitely not a shortage of shad. My father and I have caught shad 8" to 12" long on rod and reel while trying to catch the hybrids feeding on them. If that's not big stripe food, I don't know what is, and they're every where!! I've never fished Jordan Lake or any other Georgia Lake except West Point. But the way you, Chris M, Warren and several other guys on this board keep talking about the big stripes there, I may have to invest in a Ga. fishing license and catch some of these giants myself!!!! Happy Holidays!!!! Scott Woody
