John,

I agree with Jerry. My F350 4x4 Dually gets about 15-16 MPG when not pulling a load. I get about 12 MPG when pulling my boat which is a 6600 pound load. The diesel pumps are usually nasty, it takes longer to fill up due to the foamong effect of diesel, and recently, the price per gallon is higher than regular gas.

However, I will still recommend one over gasoline models hands down.

By the way, my partner just bought a new F350 4x4 SRW and put a different chip in his. He gets 21-22 MPG on the highway and 12 MPG when pulling my boat. He was a certified GM service technician and I never thought I would ever see him as a FORD owner. He is very satisfied with his 2000 model.

Hope this helps.

Warren
